Hello friend! I normally post on Mondays and Fridays but with Mother’s Day upon us I thought I’d share a last minute gift idea with you. Bath salts. Can’t go wrong there because who doesn’t love a bath? That’s what I thought. Everyone loves them. Especially Mom after a long day of work or driving the kids around or doing any of the million things we do each day. Add some bath salts to that bath, a couple candles, some soft music and you got yourself a mini spa.But even if you don’t/can’t take baths (because you only have a shower I hope!) you can use this as an air freshener. Just sprinkle some in a small dish where air needs freshening.
These bath salts are the latest addition to my Homemade From The Hart line of skin care/self care. They’ll be available for sale shortly but until then they are super easy to make for yourself or someone else. The bath salts will make a nice addition to the gift you’re already giving Mom!
And finally, Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms, Step-Moms, Grand Moms, Daughters, Sisters, Aunties and Mr. Moms (That’s the men that have to step up to be both Mom and Dad. Special kudos to you, sirs!). Enjoy your day!
Lavender Bath Salts Directions
Combine in a medium bowl:
- 6 parts coarse sea salt. I used this kind* from the Dead Sea.
- 3 parts Epsom salts. I used this one* here.
- 1 part baking soda. I used regular Arm and Hammer.
- 20-25 drops lavender essential oil. I used the Lavender Bulgaria from Rocky Mountain Oils*.
- And for color, lilac from this set here*.
Mix well to be sure the essential oils and colors are evenly distributed. Spread on cookie sheet to dry for a couple hours. Store in air tight container like these from Ball*. Add about a 1/4 cup to your bath, soak and enjoy! Happy Mother’s Day! Till next time!
